****UPDATE**** Fixed up the issue with the sword :)

READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT!!!!
In the Manga created by Naoko Takeuchi, Princess Serenity did commit suicide when she found out that Endymion was killed. So don't make yourself an ass and say this piece is wrong XD

I didn't see it as a loving scene or happy one but a rather morbid and depressing scene expressing how much sadness and pain that Serenity felt to lead her to kill herself. Love is powerful and can make one do irrational things.

DOWNLOAD FOR CLOSER LOOK!!!

I really liked doing photo-manipulation, perhaps I should do more scenes from the Silver Millennium? .... I wonder if you guys noticed that there's an evil face in the sky like in the anime XD

You caught the pain of this manga moment so clearly without any words. Even before you get to the picture itself, the colors evoke in the blues that a depressing thing has occurred, and the violence in the reds confirms that. The appearance in the sky/background of what might be tumultous storms is true to the story line that this piece is meant to represent. A painful period, a lost love, lost hope, no way out to fix things, and so a gruesome end. Truly a tragic piece, and well pulled off. Dark and Macabre, but able to see that it is a suicide. Sailor Serenity looks so broken and alone in her suicide, the photos you chose for the manipulation were excellent. The sword is a bit awkwardly placed, but perhaps she stumbled and it landed like that. Is there a larger copy? Because it's pretty hard to see details on Sailor Serenity.

This would make an excellent piece about suicides in general, but as far as evoking the emotional scene from the manga, it is a beautiful work of fanart. :+fav:

In the anime, she sort of did commit suicide in a way. She followed Endymion and the two were killed together before Queen Serenity could stop it. Selfish considering she still had a kingdom to save and she had power.

I love this picture. Very poignant in details and layering. I cannot get over just how incredible the combination is here. It draws the eyes and shows just how heart rending the loss of Serenity is here.

The only thing that seems to look a little awkward is the positioning of the sword. However, the rest of it is really incredible!

After seeing this piece, I had to go scrounging for my mangas that my mom put away calling them 'childish rubbish'. I just got through re-reading Volume 3 and found the exact spot I had left off when my mom yanked it out of my hands and replaced with a book on the Romanov Family I just scanned that very scene! Wouldn't dare put it up here but you can find it on my Photobucket account here:[link]
